HYDROPROCESS 2010 GATHERS OVER 260 DELEGATES |

The 3rd International Workshop on Process Hydrometallurgy – Hydroprocess 2010 surpassed our expectations and proved itself to be a well-recognised international forum. The event provided over 260 industry professionals from 20 countries with a unique opportunity to interact with their counterparts from around the globe, sharing ideas and experiences on a variety of subjects related to hydrometallurgical processing of ores and industrial materials.
The workshop’s two-day technical programme included four keynote lectures and 40 presentations divided into 8 technical sessions. The event also exhibited 20 poster presentations, 15 of which were student projects. A very interesting and well-evaluated short course entitled “Effective Hydrometallurgical Processing of Arsenic, Mercury and Antimony Materials” was given prior to the workshop.
The presentations and discussions that took place during the workshop were related to geometallurgy, testing and scale-up of hydrometallurgical processes; solution purification and wet treatments; gold, silver and precious metals hydrometallurgy; ore and concentrate leaching, case studies, operations and processes; solvent extraction and ion exchange developments; modelling of leaching operations; wet processing of industrial minerals and materials; and technical applications and developments.
In addition to being an excellent networking opportunity, the Hydroprocess workshop series will continue to explore the most pressing issues that face the industry today in order to add value to metallurgical processes and products.
